I've experienced burnout, overwhelm, and have spread myself wayyyy too thin. I learned the hard way that you have to prioritize health and nourish your body so that you have the energy to care for others and fuel your own goals.
As a dietitian with a masters in science in nutrition, I do not promote or practice anything that is not backed by science. Science guides and informs my recommendations and practice. You will not see me promoting trends unless they are rooted in science. Teaching at a university for 8 years has solidified in me the desire to translate science into sound nutrition bites. I also do not promote anything I haven’t experimented with myself.
While I chopped, cooked, and cleaned, my kids were playing outside, asking to read a book, or begging me to come join them play catch. And I couldn’t.
Daddy was the fun guy to hang out with and I felt like I was missing out.
That’s when I realized something needed to change.
I started small—prepping just a few ingredients ahead of time. It wasn’t perfect, but it gave me time back and let me focus on my family while still keeping our meals healthy.
A: Recent data from Statista shows the average person spends about 2 hours and 24 minutes on social media each day. If you dedicated just 1 to 2 of those hours per week to meal prep instead of scrolling, you could easily plan and prep most of your meals for the week.
The real question is: Are you willing to make time for your health?
